Is Operations Research walking into commoditization?

At least two OR experts just pointed in this direction.

IMHO OR is walking into commoditization as data science did a bit before.

If an AI can prototype an entire MIP or CP formulation and push open-source tools to their absolute limit, what will happen to commercial solver vendors?”
