Traditional scientific papers are less fortunate than old Wally. They don’t move. They are designed to be read linearly, from beginning to end, and once published, they remain frozen, indifferent to the reader’s background and interests. I want to argue that this model will soon be dead, to be replaced by living, responsive papers.
