Over a decade earlier, BR&DM vendors demonstrated their products at Business Rules Forum events using a shared vehicle-insurance case study known as the “UServ Product Derby” — covering policy eligibility, pricing, and cancellation rules for a hypothetical insurer. This challenge revives that use case: given the same detailed business rules, fact model, and test cases, how do today’s decision management tools (and the DMN standard, which didn’t exist back then) hold up?
Given the size and complexity of the original use case, and the holiday season, solvers were given two months (December and January) to submit solutions.
